ok, Answers!
1: the 22LR cylinder is stamped with numbers matching the frame serial no.
2: the 22Mag cylinder is etches (not stamped) with non-matching numbers.
3: 7/32" drill bit fits perfectly into the bbl of the firearm, so it *appears* it can shoot 22Mag
4: the 22Mag cylinder is indeed too...
Greetings!
I have a Single Six (according to the serial number search it appears to be a "Magnum .22" from 1962.
It has a .22 LR cylinder installed (working perfectly) and came with a .22 magnum cylinder as well, but it simply will not fit into the frame.
I'm assuming it simply did not come...
It's locked away again... :) Ruger American 17 HMR rifle.
Last night I pulled it out and inspected the extractor mechanism, all looked good but for some metal flaking inside! I blew that out, wiped it, and practiced on a single cartridge... never failed.
Maybe some debris was indeed preventing...
Just got back from the range. The New Model Single Six 17 HMR shot beautifully. The cylinder had absolutely no hang-ups on the casings while ejecting or spinning the cylinder just to see if it would hang up.
Accurate, and a beauty to handle. You gotta try one (and the muzzle velocity... WOW!)!
On Hold Pending Funds!
The consensus on the forum is that these are not Ruger-made.
Aftermarket made to fit the Single Six (X31RED frame... if I remember that number correctly!).
I need the money more than the grips, so here goes!
Asking $700 delivered. Condition is very good, cracking seen on...
I just picked up a .17 HMR Single Six revolver (serial number shows manufacture date of 2004) that has never been shot!
It was impulse... opportunity met ability and now it is mine.
I hit the range out in the desert on Saturday and plan on putting a few rounds through it.
Has anyone shot this...
Decisions, decisions.
I will remove them and put the wooden grips on the Single Six. After all, it is meant to be shot and shoot it I will!
I don't think I will remove the badges and replace with the black-eagle version... yeah, I think they are just glued, but I have no experience working with...
I'm sure opinions on what constitutes 'value' differs from person to person. What is your rough estimate of value?
(honestly, I'm trying to save for a 1911 and you guys have me thinking....)
