Might have some packing grease in the channel, I would try what Hawkeye mentioned, working the ejecting rod every now and then. If that doesn't fix it, contact Ruger, a new gun shouldn't do that.
Another sign of poor work is signing the leather product with magic marker on the exterior where it is visible. A stamp is more professional looking hidden in an area that is not visible when wearing.
The spring works off the loading gate, when the gate is open it pushes downward on the spring. If that spring is in place you might need a new loading gate, could be worn to the point it isn't pushing the spring down enough.
I was (actually still am) with you until I purchased the highly polished 45 colt/acp vaquero in stainless....you know, the one that shows every little fingerprint?
Also, the fingerprints will burn into the stainless steel if they sit on there to long. Real purty gun though as long as you...
For a cowboy gun, either will work fine. The holster wear and scratches will appear on the blued, but show me a cowboy that carries a showgun and I'll show you a person who thinks he's a cowboy. IMHO, the holster wear, scratches and other signs of wear come with memories and stories to be shared.
Well I found and purchased one on Gunbroker, looks a perfect match to my Vaquero in .357. Appreciate all the help, only problem now is I don't know if Im going to keep my Blackhawk combo...
