School me on the Birdshead Vaquero

I have 1 in .44 magnum. Specials are fun to shoot. But the magnums torque in my hand are not as fun. Double taps are not going to happen.

Why the obsession with birdshead grip?

I think the birdshead grip have a cool factor to them that I like. But firing 44 mag with them is a challenge for me as they torque on me. 44 specials are no problem.

    Birds Head Grip?

While it is not quite what you are asking. I find the birdshead grip to be tougher to control under recoil. I shoot 44 magnums with most all grip types whether it is single or double action guns. But birdshead grips twist more in my hands under recoil.

    Bird's head grips.

I like mine, but with. 44 mag loads I find getting consistent repeatable shots is difficult. With 44 special loads it is much easier.

    357 Redhawk with 8 holes!

I think an 8 round sub 3 inch gun, would go over well with the concealed crowd. 4 incher would be more then most people would want to carry I think. Plus snubbies have a cool factor that would sell. A longer barrel would be good for woods or a target gun.

I got a message from Lipsey's that the gun was still in the works......:) just delayed some due to production conflicts.

    New Lipsey's surprise!!

A 3 inch SS Vaquero .44 mag with a birdshead grip. That is what was on that link originally although they never had a photo with the discription.

    New Lipsey's surprise!!

My take is that Lipsey put it in its catalog before they shipped any. And may have decided to not actually build it or some such thing. I can't find any dealers that have any or even a picture of what one looks like. Their catalog didn't even have a picture when they had it listed.

    New Lipsey's surprise!!

I see this gun is no longer in the Lipsey catalog. Bummer

    redhawk alaskan and redhawk kodiak

The alaskan is built on the super redhawk frame. The kodiak is built on the redhawk frame. The super redhawk has a cushioned grip system, hammer-forged barrel and an extended frame machined to accept Ruger scope rings.
