Engraved No. 1A in .243 at the LGS

Hey Alan, didn't know you were over here, too. Never been there but shoot at Creekside some. Maybe we can get together before deer season.

Engraved No. 1A in .243 at the LGS

I'm thinking it was after market engraving, as well. I can't find anything similar through extensive searching. The gun sold before I could personally get to it. I wad alerted to it by a post on another forum. That person was walling on buying it but he ended up getting it anyways. The shop...

    Huh? What metal doesn't match?

Engraved No. 1A in .243 at the LGS

Can anyone tell me if this is a factory engraving or maybe Turnbull work? Or would you guess it was done by someone on their own after they bought a standard No. 1? Thanks Wood is also a little more "walnut" than I'm used to seeing (more brown/less red) and the checkering is slightly...

    Value of a M77RSI

I paid (trade value, actually) $800 for a tang-safety .308 RSI with a 6X Leupold FX-II a few months ago. Rifle was in excellent condition and scope was like new w/ the box.

    Remington 1100 Books or info

Great guns. I have a 1974 standard 20 ga, 26" IC barrel. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Bought it about 6 years ago for $300.

What's Your "Holy Grail" Gun That You Actually HAVE?

I'm not really into collectibles, but I do like fine hunting guns. A nice No. 1 was always on my list and now I have a couple of them. Another that was always on my list was a nice Belgian Browning Sweet 16, which I also now own. Really the biggie left on my list is a Winchester Model 21...

    Ruger 77-220 Swift. tang saftey

I hunted with a pheasant guide up in SoDak that kept an M77 in .220 Swift in his truck for coyotes and other sort of vermin. That thing was murder on a jackrabbit...

    Project No. 1

Yes I've been researching steaming and raising the wood. The stock is really more scratched than the pictures can show. No, it's not terrible, but I would love for it to be mint again. But usually I'm a "keep things original at all costs" kind of guy so I'm torn. I'll check out Pilkingtons...

WTB Red recoil pad for No. 1

Looking for a red pad to put on a newer #1. PM me if anyone has one they're willing to part with. Or post here if you know any other way to get one. I'd prefer it to have Ruger logo. Thanks.

    Project No. 1

Wow, thanks for the info gewehr. That's really good to know. It didn't make sense for a varmint rifle to come with irons, but I couldn't figure out what else they would be. 750 for gun and scope. I'm very happy with it.

    Project No. 1

The scope is a Bushnell Banner 3-9x50. Pretty cheap scope. If push comes to shove I'll use it, but I'd like to upgrade. As for the barrel, it is 23" from crown to receiver. What tipped me off, though, is that there are fill in screws in the tapered part of the barrel for what I can only...
