Comparing Ruger SR 1911 to other major brands

I have a full size ruger in .45 ($700) a Colt competition in .45 ($1000), an RIA in 10mm($600) and an RIA in 9mm ($500). They are all reliable and no big differences in accuracy. RIAs have the best trigger followed by Ruger. The colt is a little heavier pull but still a 1911 trigger meaning...

    General information ATI 1911

I have an ATI PCC. 9mm rifles have a reputation of breaking firing pins., especially with hiperfire triggers cause they hit so hard. So I called ATI and asked to buy a couple of new ones. They were in the process of evacuating for a hurricane. Lady told me they didn't have any in stock but...

    A-10C Warthog upgrade

So if you are talking about the British navy, then not only the USAF flew F-15s. Lots of countries do. The B version of the Harrier was designed and built by the US for the USMC. The brits and Spain bought some from us. Technically they still used RR engines I believe.

    A-10C Warthog upgrade

They navy retired the UH-1. THE Navy never flew AV-8A or B models. Nor do they fly the F-35C, only the marines do, and it is not the aircraft, it's very different.

    A-10C Warthog upgrade

Not true, they have AH-1 attack helicopters, used the have AV-8 Harrier's and still fly F-18 A/Bs, long since retired by the navy. And no its not even close to the same as the current Super Hornets the navy flys. Their F-35s are different versions as well with V/STOL capability.

    A-10C Warthog upgrade

The Air Force wanted to retire the A-10 because of limited manpower and funding. With the F-35 coming into service, there was just not enough personnel and funds to continue to operate it. They did not dislike the plane and always recognized its value but had to take the F-35. I think the...

    A-10C Warthog upgrade

Technically, Thunderbolt II. That is the official designation. Warthog is just a nickname that stuck. Like BUFF and THUD to name a couple.

It was broke. I worked on the redesign of the fire control system in 2019 and it had several problems, not the least of which was it tended to overheat on the ground and go TU. 13 different printed circuit boards in an aluminum box a little bigger than a shoe box and no ventilation. Many of...

    Ruger Max 9 discharge.

I don't know the max 9 but is the striker 100% preloaded?

    Ruger Max 9 discharge.

Is a max 9 striker or hammer fired? Either way I'm thinking a defective sear that let go on its own from movement or bumping or something. Was the safety on?

    Downside of an empty chamber

In my years of shooting various speed competitions that require a draw, I have never seen an AD from a draw. I would venture to say I have done and observed 10s of thousands of draws and first shots with no negative actions. Safety and trigger discipline are drummed in at most match briefs...

    Vaquero action job

Cheap easy way to lighten the trigger on a ruger SA is remove one sides grip, disconnect one of the springs. Done. Gun functions fine. Occasionally swap sides.
