    Info on a MKII Target

I have one just like it. Should shoot any decent quality ammo. If it has cycling problems, something needs fixing. Not inherent in the gun.

Yet another gun cleaning, lube, protect post

I've tried every cleaner product. Hoppes 9 is my favorite, it's as good as any of them. FP-10 is the best general lubricant. I use a silicone cloth to wipe down guns for storage. Don't use grease on the rails of a .22, it can drag enough to make it fail to cycle especially in the cold.

Poor groups with mark II target competition model

I would look around on the net and see what the recommended crown angle is then dig through my Dremel tips and find a nice fine tapered stone and give it a very light touch. Clamp the barrel in a panavise for stability and just do it easy. Or, send it back to Ruger but the shipping is...

    Cleaning a Volquartsen comp.

    1) It may also have lead in it. If so, soak it in a 50-50 mix or hydrogen peroxide and vinegar then scrape it. 2) If it is flamed on carbon, no commercial cleaner removes it. I use a soak tank of Berryman/s Chemical Dip which does soften it and makes it easier to scrub off. Leave it in the...

    Volquartsen sear

The Ruger sear and hammer can be worked by a competent smith to where the performance is as good as the VQ, with the exception that the VQ trigger has a pretravel adjust which the stock trigger does not (the stock trigger does have an overtravel adjust only). As for drop in with no rework, the...

How can I convert a mag to hi-cap?

That's what I was thinking. Some people buy ten round .40 mags and use them for 9mm because they hold 14 or 15 rounds of 9mm (that is legal in kali, as long as you don't modify the .40 mag to make it work as a 9mm mag). Picking up 5 extra rounds maybe worth it, just one isn't worth the trouble.

How can I convert a mag to hi-cap?

Flattening the bubbles won't work, it will deform the mag tube and it will bind in the gun. You MIGHT be able to cut the bubbles off and file the edges smooth. I never tried it, that's a felony in my state.
