Can someone explain what makes the #1 rifles so expensive? They are beautiful no doubt, but is there something in the production process that makes them particularly costly to build? Always wondered about that.

I just discovered that N.C. Ordinance is making Birds-head style brass grip-frames for Blackhawks. They call it the Ruger lightening and it's supposed to be direct fit for Vaquero, XR3- red, XRN- red, Blackhawks, and Single-six. I know I'm going to pick one up for my "Liberty" .357 Blackhawk...

A couple years ago I picked up a 150 series (1974) blued 4" Security Six w/fixed sights chambered in .38spl. I think it was from a police contract. It's a great walkin' around gun for day hikes and gets a fair amount of holster time. Now, if I could only find some Jay Scott grips for it..........
