    Best ambi safety for CMD?

In the near future I'll be installing ambi safeties on both a Nightwatchman and a lightweight commander. Any opinions on which ones require the least amount of fitting?

    Security six cylinder switch question

Thanks, I was pretty sure the frame was built for .357 loads, but you never know. Not only .38spl, but .357's also shoot .38LC and .38 short colt. I don't shoot a whole lot of magnum loads anyway, but like the idea that I could and I already have the cylinder on hand. Double thanks for...

    Security six cylinder switch question

I have an early security six (1974) which apparently came from a police contract as it has fixed sights and is chambered in .38spl. As far as I know all security sixes were built for the .357 magnum, so would there be any problem with switching to a .357 cylinder in this gun? Provided, of...

    Why are #1's so expensive??

Can someone explain what makes the #1 rifles so expensive? They are beautiful no doubt, but is there something in the production process that makes them particularly costly to build? Always wondered about that.

    New Brass Gripframes!

I just discovered that N.C. Ordinance is making Birds-head style brass grip-frames for Blackhawks. They call it the Ruger lightening and it's supposed to be direct fit for Vaquero, XR3- red, XRN- red, Blackhawks, and Single-six. I know I'm going to pick one up for my "Liberty" .357 Blackhawk...

    Aftermarket brass grip frame?

Thanks for the information. I'll start trying to chase one down. I've got a "Liberty" Blackhawk that I think would look nice wearing one.

    Couldn't Live Without It

A couple years ago I picked up a 150 series (1974) blued 4" Security Six w/fixed sights chambered in .38spl. I think it was from a police contract. It's a great walkin' around gun for day hikes and gets a fair amount of holster time. Now, if I could only find some Jay Scott grips for it..........
