    10/22 Takedown Barrel Damage

http://i686.photobucket.com/albums/vv228/2Track_photos/PICT0657sm.jpg Another example by extractor slot. These look worse than just eying the barrel. Maybe this wear stops at a certain point, but the edge of the barrel definitely begins to mushroom out on the edge, as the metal has to go...

    10/22 Takedown Barrel Damage

http://i686.photobucket.com/albums/vv228/2Track_photos/PICT0653sm.jpg I'll see if I can get this to work. Here's my barrel at less than 1500 rounds, nothing over 1250 and stock parts. Is this considered normal wear?

10-22 take down not grouping cold

New rail screws seems to have cleared it up. Strange kind of problem. I just cut them all by hand with help from local smith and wrenched them on tighter with blue threadlock. The ones Weaver supplied just didn't engage enough threads to feel comfortable IMO. It still seems to like shooting hot...

    10/22 project ideas, feedback needed

Looks like fun. If you want a darker look you could try Minwax Jacobean or ebony. I did an unfinished laminated stock, (already on the dark side) and used Jacobean, removed a lot of it with thinner, and rubbed satin clear on it. Came out pretty nice. Free floating always seems like a good idea...

    10/22 Takedown Barrel Damage

I just checked mine - about 900+ rounds, a few dry fires, and I'm also showing signs of barrel wear. It seems to me that barrel fitting is a problem. If it's too loose it wobbles around, and these barrels seem to suggest too little head space. I'm no smith, and I'll ask some shops tomorrow what...

10/22 take down rifle - brand new and having difficulty

Well I got mine at Cabella's too, and the sales guy was having grief with the same issue. Kind of strange as all 10-22's are pretty much the same. First, when I hold my bolt back I press the the lock up and to the back - towards the trigger guard. While holding the lock, release the bolt and it...

10-22 take down not grouping cold

Well, I had it at two clicks over assembled finger tight, then three or four clicks didn't seem too stiff, and that's what I was shooting last. Now I've backed off to snug with no apparent barrel wobble = three clicks over finger tight. So, I'll see what happens. Yes, my other guns (mostly 223)...

10-22 take down not grouping cold

10-22 take down, about 900 rounds so far - ran a box of Remington Gold bulk junk (very dirty), cleaned after this, 100 CCI Mini Mags, Federal Target grade wouldn't cycle after several mags, and 200 rounds of CCI Blazer ran OK. I'm using a 3X9 scope with Leupold QRW rings at fifty yards, with...

adding a sling to a 10/22 take down

I like the idea presented using tactical sling mounts. Anyone have experience with quick disconnects using this type of slot/D-ring attachment? Examples: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=41207/Product/RUGER-reg-10-22-reg-TACTICAL-BARREL-BAND...

    10/22 Take Down questions

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=41207/Product/RUGER-reg-10-22-reg-TACTICAL-BARREL-BAND Pricy, but the two mini rails look interesting.

    10/22 Take Down questions

I haven’t seen any 3X9 scopes that you could leave on, only the cool looking tactical 4x variety. I need the X9 and had an extra Leupold V-II 3X9 rimfire AO I got on sale, so I’m using Leupold’s QRW rings and a Weaver Multi Slot base with good results. The rings wouldn’t work with the supplied...

    Ruger 10/22 Scope Rail Problem

Yes, "22 rings" = 3/8 or 11mm. My CZ has those. I'm having trouble with Ruger's new combo rail, supplied with new Take Down 10-22. The Leupold QRW rings I got for it wouldn't cinch down on the Ruger rail, just slopped around. They fit a picatinny, and other weaver rails, so I ordered a Weaver...
