Ended at $705 plus actual shipping. Not a bad price at all.
That's what a rare version should go for, maybe a little more. Found a used Security Six snub but it's BEAT and they want $500. I decided to pass. Has slight rust and pitting, I know the snub nose Security Six is kind if rare since most of the snubs were the Speed Six but for as beat as it is I don't think I want to pay $500 for it.
Those new Rossis are getting to be more and more tempting 😔

That was a common Security Six that brought $705, and with wrong grips. Nice box and shipper though.
I'm good that those common variations have increased a bit.

The Security Six snubs seem to bring a premium around here and you just hardly ever see one for sale.

Just found this nice .357 mag. shorty low back loose in the wild at a LGS with period correct Ajax "fake" pearl grips for a very fair price. It's home now!

I found the same exact one recently only it wasn't a low back version. I decided against it because it had pitting and some slight rust and they wanted too much for it. I may just be getting a 3 inch sp101, I'll know forsure in a few days

Sarco had the oversized low # walnut Jay Scott grips 6 months ago or so. I grabbed a set for right at thirty bucks. Good grief, they are OVERSIZE ! I spent a couple hours with a belt sander, dremel drums, sand paper and some tru-oil on those monsters. They now fit my hand a lot like the Herretts.

Finding grips is the hardest part of owning these old workhorses. I can't remember who I got the Norse style reworked grips for the one from but he was in Oklahoma and it was several years ago.

I just had to do the same thing with my Mustangs only I didn't have to put nearly as much effort. A piece broke off the right side where it partially covers the backstrap. Tried to glue it back on but couldn't clamp it down so no luck there. I said screw it and sanded both sides down to the backstrap then gave em a good smoothing and finished em with a minwax pen. They actually look pretty good but the spot that broke is brighter than the rest. I can't sand it any further so I might have to get another touch up pen in a darker shade to match it. They actually fit my hand alot better now so hopefully I found the fix I needed. If not it's back to I'll fitting Pachmayrs made for the high backs.

Here is a Security Six recently acquired I believe is a low back variation. It is also a 150 series.
Correct me if I'm wrong!
That's definitely a low back, if you decide you don't like the grips let me know. I can walk you through the process of making Pachmayr grips for the later models work.
The serial number will start with 150- if it's a 150 but it could be a 151 too. My low back has a 151 SN.
