Speaking of words being bleeped, its amazing how our society allows vile language on TV and movies without any restrictions, but one certain word cannot ever be spoken, and we all know what that word is. You cannot even use it in context of its historical use, or quote it from literature (many schools have banned Mark Twain's "Huckleberry Finn" because it uses the forbidden "n" word).
One of my older grandkids mentioned that at school, someone had gotten into trouble because they "used the "n" word". I acted curious and asked "What is this "n" word that you are referring to". My grandchild replied, a bit flustered, "Grandpa, you know what I mean by the "n" word". I then said "I'm not sure, so why don't you tell me what you mean?". My grandchild just rolled her eyes and said "Oh Grandpa!" and walked away. She could not even get herself to say the word as an explanation in our conversation, right in my own house with no one else around. Just amazing to me.
I won't use the word here because I suspect that I would get banned, even if I used the word in a non-derogatory manner. This makes me better understand how that school official a few years back, I think it was in Philadelphia, that was fired for using the very legitimate English word of "niggardly" instead of the more common word "stingy" because ignorant fools thought it had somethng to do with a similar sounding word.
