    Memorial Day reflections

I retired 29 years ago today, but My cousin only made it to Normandy. The 29th Infantry 116 Regiment, Yankee's would have called them the "Stonewall Brigade"

Patience & good example can pay off with kids

My kids turned out okay because of my wife, I sucked in the dad department because I was always deployed (I volunteered to go) and was never home. I just backed up what ever she told them to do, so if they asked her and she said No, then came and asked me, someone got a spanking. We had girls...

Bunch of babies at the range.

My guns are all raggedy because I try to shoot as much as possible. The only Eulogy I want is for a Gun or Pawn shop person to say "those guns aren't worth anything their all shot out". :) I am around a lot of Young Guy's at the ranges now because they out number the Old Farts, and they are...

    The Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB

We dropped off two of prototype SH-60B's there in 1984 out of the five that were built. There is a great deal of money on that base.

    How helicopters fly

The Commanding Office of Eglin moved out little detachment from the barracks to a motel out in Fort Walton Beach. He said he didn't like sailors on his base. :)

    How helicopters fly

But, Sikorsky gave the Navy the Bird on August 27, 1980. The only difference between that helicopter and a 1970's American made car was it was bigger, something was always broke everyday. :)

    How helicopters fly

This is the Greatest Helicopter Pilot I ever saw fly, rode in the back with or worked for. He was truly a great man and ever though I worked Thousands of hours to get him in the air, it was well worth it. :) https://www.nhahistoricalsociety.org/capt-larrie-gene-cable-usn-ret-biography/
